Purpose of the lette.io mailproxy

Microsoft is turning off basic authentication in January, 2023 (Deprecation notice). This decision forces customers to move from applications that use basic authentication to apps that use modern authentication. Modern authentication (OAuth 2.0 token-based authorization) has many benefits and improvements and should be used wherever possible. However, you might be using applications that do not support modern authentication. Maybe the vendor of your software has not implemented modern authentication yet, or you are currently unable to update your applications. The lette.io proxy fills this gap. The lette.io proxy intercepts your IMAPS basic authentication login commands and performs modern authentication with Exchange Online for you. All other commands are directly proxied between your email client applications and Exchange Online through lette.io. This gives you as much time as you need to move on from basic authentication.
